I woke up again at 5am. I’ve had a lot of early mornings this trip, and never got a whole lot of sleep. But I was happy to be awake and have an extra hour or two to just sit outside in our outdoor living area just taking it all in before we had to fly back to Houston. Soon Clint woke up and we talked with the kids for a bit. I had been texting Hayley back and forth the whole trip, but it was so fun to talk with them on the phone and hear their cute voices.
Sydney no longer had a tummy ache (she called us the night before crying), Hayley was just as sweet as could be (I think she missed us), Colin was chill as always, and from what I heard, Keaton was doing just fine as well! I’m so grateful to Don and Carla for watching them. It’s hard to be away, but it is so good to be away, because it makes everyone appreciate everyone else even more!
We had breakfast again at the Rio Bhongo overlooking the ocean. The views were incredible and the food was so good! At breakfast we were also joined by our very own little monkey friend. He was so cute and even posed for a couple of pictures with us! After breakfast, I took Clint to the new beach I found, the one that truly looks like a deserted island. This hotel is SO cool on so many levels!!
We didn’t have a lot of time, so soon we headed over to the main beach that had all the action. And we were in luck! The crocodile, which frequents the area, hadn’t been seen for two days, so all water sports were back on! Clint was super nervous, but everyone else was going kayaking AND snorkeling, so we had to do something! I was a little freaked out about the snorkeling part, but let’s try kayaking! Despite the looming 10 ft long crocodile (I’m sure he was there somewhere), we had tons of fun kayaking! I so did not want to leave.
Soon it was time to go to the airport! We had another AMAZING time in Costa Rica!! I love the friendliness of the people (they treat you as family), the rich culture, all the amazing activities, how clean it is, and the intrinsic beauty that fills this country!! Pura Vida! I can’t wait to come back!!
